The Palm Beach County Sports Commission announced their 30-member Watch List for the 2019 Lou Groza Award, given annually to the top collegiate place-kicker, and USF kicker Coby Weiss was named to the list.
After transferring from Tennessee State, Weiss took over kicking duties prior to the Illinois game in 2018. He missed his first two kicks (both over 40-yards), before making 15-of-16 field goals, including his final nine attempts to end the season.
He was drilled by a UMass defender on a PAT and broke his finger on the play. He followed that up by making the game-winning 22-yard field against Tulsa the next week.
