Behind a five-run fourth inning, the USF baseball team exploded for a 10-3 win over FGCU on Tuesday night at USF Baseball Stadium. Previously 0-7, the victory for the Bulls is their first ever over the Eagles at home.
USF (11-6) escaped an early jam behind a bases loaded double play started by third baseman David Villar before loading the bases themselves and responding with a run in the bottom half.
With the bases juiced, Joe Genord was plunked on the back to make it 1-0 USF. The Bulls’ first baseman would also hit his first home run of the season in the sixth inning.
