TAMPA (March 6, 2024) – The University of South Florida sailing team placed fifth overall this weekend in the Phoebe Corcoran King Regatta.
Against stiff competition at the College of Charleston, the Bulls ended up drawing the short straw. Defending national champions Stanford University won handily with a 4-0 record. College of Charleston finished 2nd with a 3-1 record, and the other three teams were tied with 1-3 records. Through a somewhat complicated tie-breaking system, USF ended up 5th, behind Tulane University and Jacksonville University.
Unfortunately, conditions were not ideal for racing and only one round-robin, or 4 ten-minute races against each team, were completed all weekend.
