The Central Florida Golden Knights and South Florida Bulls’ rivalry may not be the biggest and best rivalry in all of college football, but don’t tell that to their fans. The game has only been played six times, but with only a few hundred miles separating the two schools, there has always been bad blood between the two teams.
South Florida began playing football at the Division I-AA level (now FCS) in 1997. Since then, the two schools had discussed playing a game. When the Bulls moved up to Division I-A in 2001, the talks were amped up to eleven.
