Dalia Dippolito is turning to two high-profile lawyers for her high-profile murder-for-hire retrial.
The prominent attorneys are Mark Eiglarsh, of Miami, and Brian Claypool, of Pasadena, Calif., both expert legal commentators for national TV news shows, on top of their separate practices.
Palm Beach County Circuit Judge Glenn Kelley on Thursday permitted Claypool, who is not a member of the Florida Bar, to join Eiglarsh in the defense of the Boynton Beach woman accused of trying to hire a hitman to kill her newlywed husband in 2009.
Appearing on the telephone, Claypool said he's on the much-watched case for free and will pay his own travel expenses even though Dippolito is poor enough to qualify for publicly paid legal costs.
