IRVINE, Texas, July 7, 2021 – The American Athletic Conference has awarded three University of South Florida student-athletes annual academic awards, the league announced on Wednesday. Albin Bergstrom (men's golf) and Marina Barzaghi (sailing, women's at-large) earned sport-specific scholar-athlete awards, while Georgina Corrick (softball) earned both the sport-specific award and the conference's overall female scholar-athlete of the year award.
Award winners are chosen by the conference FARs and receive a $2,000 postgraduate scholarship.
Corrick (Sanford, Fla.) capped a remarkable 2021 season by helping the softball program reach its 16th NCAA tournament appearance, aiding the team to the Gainesville regional finals.
