announced the signing of Penn State transfer Geno Thorpe to a financial aid agreement on Wednesday.
Thorpe played in all 34 games for the Nittany Lions last season as a sophomore while making 17 starts. The 6-3 guard from Pittsburgh, Pa., averaged 8.7 points, 2.6 rebounds and 1.3 assists in 24.3 minutes per game while serving as the team’s top free throw shooter at 83.9 percent (94-112). Known as a fearless competitor, Thorpe was generally regarded as the Lions’ best on-ball defender and was very good in transition both as a passer and a finisher.
