TAMPA, Fla. (September 9, 2024) – The American Athletic Conference announced its weekly accolades on Monday. The University of South Florida was represented by Elyse Thornton and Leire Herraez Gallach. Thornton was named the AAC Offensive Player of the Week, while Herraez Gallach was named the AAC Goalkeeper of the Week.
Thornton led South Florida with its only goal for the week. She recorded her first collegiate goal and the match-winner against in-state rival UCF. She produced a perfect shooting percentage and shots on goal percentage as her lone shot found the back of the net.
