TAMPA, AUG. 17, 2016 – USF players were partway through the first 11-on-11 snaps of practice Wednesday, when head coach Willie Taggart called an unexpected audible.
“We’re going to grab our towels and then we’re going tto the beach,” said Taggart, who instantly turned a team huddle into a dance party at the Morsani Football Practice Complex.
Taggart rewarded his hard-working players with a surprise trip to Clearwater Beach after the team got through its third two-a-day of fall camp early in the week.
“He always takes us to the beach one time a year, so we kind of felt it coming sooner or later,” senior safety Nate Godwin said.
