USF graduate assistant David Gilbertson, a former Washington State quarterback with a strong football pedigree, will replace Stu Holt as Bulls tight ends coach, the school announced.
Holt, who oversaw tight ends and special teams, recently departed for an assistant's job at Sun Belt Conference program Appalachian State. A North Carolina native and former Tar Heels long snapper, Holt joined the Mountaineers staff to move his family closer to home, USF officials indicated.
Gilbertson becomes the sixth new Bulls assistant hired since the end of the 2014 season. The Bulls still haven't indicated who will coach special teams.
