STRONG RELAY PERFORMANCES HIGHLIGHT DAY ONE FOR USF AT PEPSI FLORIDA RELAYS

TAMPA, FLA., APRIL 4, 2025 — The University of South Florida track and field team turned in a strong opening-day performance at the Pepsi Florida Relays on Friday at Percy Beard Track, qualifying for multiple finals and seeing several athletes etch their names in the program record books. The two-day meet continues Saturday, with events set to begin at 9 a.m. ET.

The men's 4x100-meter relay squad made an early statement in Gainesville, posting a first-place time of 38.66 in the preliminaries. The efforts of Abdul-Rasheed Saminu, Jaleel Croal, Alexavier Monfries and Nathan Metelus not only advanced to Saturday's final but also recorded the second-fastest mark in school history.
