PROVIDENCE, R.I., NOV. 9, 2016 – Throughout the 2016 season, defense has been a strength of the University of South Florida men’s soccer team and the anchors of the Bulls’ backfield were honored with major awards the American Athletic Conference announced Wednesday morning. Senior Spasoje Stefanovic was named the league’s Goalkeeper of the Year and sophomore Prosper Figbe the Defensive Player of the Year. The USF coaching staff was the Staff of the Year and five Bulls landed on the all-conference teams.
Stefanovic (Belgrade, Serbia) was chosen as Goalkeeper of the Year for the second time in his three-year career.
