A charter school employee said she was fired after warning administrators about her principal's drug habits -- months before the school leader was arrested for smoking marijuana with a student.
Jackelin Cruz, a receptionist at Mavericks charter school in Palm Springs, says in a whistleblower lawsuit filed this month that she lost her job after reporting principal Krista Morton for having pot in her purse.
Cruz also accused Morton of inappropriately interacting with students on social media.
Morton was arrested in May when she was caught with her shirt unbuttoned smoking pot in a car with a student.
