Behind some opportunistic offense and a solid start from RHP Peter Strzelecki, the USF Bulls clinched the weekend series with a 6-0 win over Central Michigan on Saturday night at USF Baseball Stadium.
Strzelecki finished with a career-high 12 strikeouts, allowing only three hits, two walks and no runs.
A leadoff double by junior first baseman Joe Genord in the bottom of the second, coupled with a few grounders from J.D. Dutka and Tyler Dietrich pushed the games’ first run across to make it 1-0. Genord would finish the game 2-for-3 with two RBI.
After the Bulls senior righty mowed down all three Chippewas batters in the top of the fourth, the USF offense responded with two more runs in the bottom half to make it 3-0.
