TAMPA, Jan. 29, 2019 – Senior of the USF women's tennis team was named The American Player of the Week for the second straight week after a 5-0 start to her season.
Roman Dominguez (Burgos, Spain), defeated No. 1 Katrina Jokic from Georgia, 7-6(4),6-2, as well as Rosie Cheng from William & Mary, 6-1, 6-2, at the premier spot to extend her record to 3-0 against ranked opponents. This feat is especially noteworthy because Roman Dominguez came into this season unranked in the ITA fall rankings. Roman Dominguez also had a doubles win with her partner (Trianon, Mauritis), defeating the pairing of Lauren Goodman and Charlotte Madson from William & Mary on court two, 6-2.
