USF men’s basketball received another addition to the crazy offseason when former four-star guard Serrel Smith Jr. announced his transfer to USF. Serrel is heading back to the bay by way of Maryland and ETSU.
Smith, a native from the Bay Area, was a four-star recruit out of St. Petersburg High School and was rated as the number 13 combo guard in the country when he committed to play for Maryland. His time in College Park saw him get playing time in 61 games but couldn’t crack the starting lineup in his two years with the Terps.
