Planned Parenthood protest draws more than 200 in Pembroke Pines

More than 200 protesters denounced Planned Parenthood on Saturday in Pembroke Pines as part of a nationwide protest over whether fetal tissues recovered during abortions are sold for profit.

The protest began about 9 a.m. in front of the clinic along University Drive, on the north side of Pines Boulevard. Police cars parked in front of the clinic as a precaution. Clinic workers stood outside to escort patients if needed.

But there did not appear to be confrontations, as a ditch separated the clinic and protesters.

The protest was peaceful and included signs that read: "Babies are murdered here," "God have mercy on us for the sin of abortion" and "Give your child a birth day, not a death day.
