Pictures have surfaced raising new safety concerns about a troubled teen detention center near West Palm Beach.
Just a day after Florida's top juvenile justice official vouched for the private company running the state's Palm Beach Juvenile Correctional Facility, County Mayor Shelley Vana circulated photos she said show a blood-stained cell at the facility.
According to Vana, a teenager held at the facility was found bleeding after purposely cutting his arm when he wasn't allowed to leave a cell to use the bathroom. Vana said she learned that the teenager asked to leave the cell because his toilet wasn't working and he was left waiting for hours before being removed after his injury was discovered.
