One treated for smoke inhalation in fire at Coconut Creek mobile home community

One person was hospitalized for smoke inhalation early Monday when a pair of residences in a Coconut Creek mobile home community caught fire.

According to Coconut Creek Police Sgt. Henry Cabrera, first-responders were notified about 5:30 a.m. and several agencies, including the Margate/Coconut Creek Fire Department went to the scene.

The fire began in the carport of the home at 6535 NW 34th Ave. and then spread to the residence next door at 6543 NW 34th Ave., Cabrera said.

The community is known as the Tallowood Isle Mobile Home Community which is located west of Florida's Turnpike and south of Hillsboro Boulevard in northwest Broward County.
