A boat crashed into a seawall along the Intracoastal Waterway on Saturday night, killing one person and sending two others to the hospital with potentially life-threatening injuries, a fire official said.
Five people were on the boat when it hit the seawall about 8 p.m. near the 3200 block of Northeast 38th Street, according to Deputy Chief Timothy Heiser of Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue.
The names of the boat's occupants haven't been released, and officials said it was too early to tell what caused the crash.
Neighbors said the boaters may have been in their late teens or early 20s.
