TAMPA, JULY 15, 2016 – Former USF standout Jimmy Moran got off to a great start in his return to the Double-A Southern League on Thursday night.
Moran pitched a scoreless eighth inning with a strikeout in Pensacola’s 9-0 win at Jacksonville. The right-hander was promoted on July 9 after going 2-0 with a 2.12 ERA in 17.0 innings for Daytona in the Class-A Advanced Florida State League.
Moran went 4-1 as a reliever for the Bulls in 2011 before he was drafted by the Cincinnati Reds in the 18th round.
