The mother of a slain 3-year-old sobbed in court on Thursday as she recounted the details of the day her son's life ended.
Chantel Haye, 20, said she left her son, Khyese Coach, in the care of her boyfriend, Corey Gordon, 28, on Feb. 9 while she started a new job in Boca Raton. When Gordon picked Haye up from work that afternoon, the child was lifeless in the backseat.
Gordon, who denies killing Khyese, was in court to ask Broward Circuit Judge Bernard Bober to set bail so he can remain free while he awaits trial.
