Portmarnock, Ireland, June 28, 2024 – University of South Florida alumnus Melanie Green, the AAC Women's Golf Player of the Year, has moved on to the finals of the R&A Women's Amateur Championship. Green defeated Marie Eline Madsen of Denmark in the semifinal match 3&1 and will play Lorna McClymont of Milngavie in the 36-hole final match Saturday, June 29th at 1:30 ET.
The Women's Amateur Championship is one of the leading championships in amateur golf for female golfers. The championship, founded in 1893, attracts an international field. The winner gains entry to the AIG Women's Open, US Women's Open, The Amundi Evian Championship, Chevron Championship and by tradition, an invite to compete at Augusta National Women's Amateur Championship.
