TAMPA (July 18, 2022) – University of South Florida product Shane McClanahan has been named the American League starting pitcher for the 2022 Major League Baseball All-Star Game, the league announced on Monday.
The 2022 MLB All-Star Game is set for Tuesday, July 19 at 8 p.m. ET at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles.
McClanahan, in just his second full season in the big leagues, was selected to his first All-Star Game and is the first MLB All-Star in South Florida program history. McClanahan was named to the All-Star Team after a league-wide vote among his peers and finished with the most votes by any pitcher in the American League.
