Drivers on southbound Interstate 75 can't access northbound Florida's Turnpike – yet.
But a massive $234 million upgrade of I-75 will include building some of the missing ramps at the turnpike's Homestead Extension. It will allow drivers in southwest Broward to stay off local roads like Pines Boulevard, Miramar Parkway and Red Road.
Instead, they'll be able to zip down I-75 to the turnpike for a speedier alternate route to places like Sun Life Stadium, Calder Race Course and neighborhoods and businesses along the Broward-Miami-Dade border.
Drivers currently can only go from southbound I-75 to the southbound turnpike toward the Keys, or coming back from the Keys on the northbound turnpike to northbound I-75.
