TAMPA, Fla., Aug. 22, 2021 – After challenging the North Florida defense all night long, the University of South Florida women's soccer earned a penalty-kick and scored to emerge victorious in a double-overtime game against the North Florida Ospreys.
The Bulls dominated possession but just couldn't find the back of the net for most of the game. USF out shot the Ospreys, 26-2, and led overall possession, 70 percent-30 percent, throughout the game. (Rincon, Ga.) tallied her first shutout of the season in the win.
After regulation had finished, the Ospreys had only tallied two shots, with both being stopped by Martinez, while USF had taken 20 with four going on goal.
