TAMPA, FEB. 13, 2018 – The national spotlight remains on the No. 22/21 Bulls as junior Kitija Laksa was named the U.S. Basketball Writers Association National Player of the Week for the second time this season. Laksa averaged 33 points per game in the Bulls' 2-0 week.
Laksa set a new career-high Sunday against No. 13 Ohio State when she matched the American Athletic Conference single game scoring record with 41 points. The junior from Riga, Latvia is the only player in NCAA Division I with two 40-point performances this season.
In two wins, Laksa shot 25–for-44 from the field and finished 56.
