Former Tamarac mayor Beth Flansbaum-Talabisco was found not guilty Wednesday afternoon of corruption charges in a case which saw her accused of taking bribes from two developers.
The jury took about two hours to return with its verdict finding Talabisco not guilty on four counts. She had faced up to 25 years in prison had she been convicted.
She raised her hands in the air as about a dozen supporters cheered loudly. Seconds later a few tears streamed down her cheeks.
"Beth has been living with these charges since March of 2011" Talabisco's lawyer, Larry Davis, said in his closing remarks.
