Michael Bilotti, his daughter Christin, and his employee, John Pacchiana, were found guilty Friday of the 2005 murder of Richard Rojas, a Miami teenager whom they accused of rape and burglary.
The three were jailed immediately after the verdicts were read. The jury deliberated for about 10 hours over three days before delivering its decision to Broward Circuit Court Judge Jeffrey R. Levenson late Friday morning.
The elder Bilotti, 60, and Pacchiana, 42, were found guilty of first-degree murder and conspiracy. The convictions carry mandatory life sentences.
"Mike Bilotti thought he was above the law," prosecutor Gregg Rossman said outside the courtroom.
