Jones Leads Bulls on Day 1 of Gifford Collegiate

NAPA, Calif., NOV. 7, 2016 – Jimmy Jones led the Bulls through the stroke play portion of the Gifford Collegiate on Monday afternoon.

Jones finished the 36-hole day tied for 18th place at 1-under (73-70) at Silverado Resort and Spa (par 72, 7,171 yards). The junior from Tampa posted a pair of top-five finishes heading into the Bulls’ final event of the fall that features an NCAA Championship-type format.

USF is seeded seventh for the match play quarterfinals and will face second-seeded Stanford on Tuesday, starting at 10:57 a.
