Johnson, Skeete Lead Bulls to Win in Penalty Kicks

STORRS, Conn. (Nov. 2, 2016)— Survive and Advance.

Thanks to Leticia Skeete’s game-winning penalty kick and Haley Johnson’s two saves in goal, the USF women’s soccer team defeated Cincinnati, 4-3, in penalty kicks to advance to the semifinals of the 2016 American Athletic Conference Championship.

After 110 minutes of scoreless play, the Bulls (12-3-3) went to penalty kicks against Cincinnati (11-5-4) for the second time in as many conference tournaments. In the 2015 championship game, the Bulls were on the wrong end of the kicks, falling short and earning runner-up status for the second straight year.
