TAMPA, MARCH 27, 2018 – The postseason accolades continue to pour in for Maria Jespersen as the senior was named an Associated Press (AP) All-America Honorable Mention, the organization announced Monday. Jespersen became the second player in program history to receive the honor.
Jespersen (Arhus, Denmark) was one of 23 student-athletes to be listed as honorable mentions. The AP all-america team consists of three teams, each with five players. Jespersen joins fellow American Athletic Conference senior Kia Nurse as an honorable mention.
Jespersen joins Courtney Williams ('16), who was a two-time AP all-america honorable mention, as the only student-athletes in program history to be recognized by the AP as all-americans.
