Herget Having All-Star Season in FSL

TAMPA, JUNE 17, 2016Jimmy Herget has been rewarded for his stellar second season in pro baseball.

USF’s former ace will represent the Daytona Tortugas in the Florida State League All-Star Game on Saturday at Hammond Stadium in Fort Myers. First pitch is set for 7:05 p.m. and tickets can be purchased at MiracleBaseball.com.

Drafted in the sixth round by Cincinnati last summer, Herget has gone on to become a successful closer, converting 26 of 28 save opportunities between two different levels of pro ball. The right-hander out of Tampa’s Jefferson High School leads the FSL will 11 saves in 11 chances this season, along with a 2-2 record and a 1.
