Gov. Rick Scott this morning signed a bill that seeks to cut testing in Florida's public schools and said he'd do more "to make sure Florida students are not over tested."
The bill (HB 7069) was passed by the Florida Legislature last week, in response to a too-much testing outcry from teachers and parents across the state.
The legislation was applauded by some educators as it does away with requirements for many tests, including many that had been planned for later this spring.
But it was criticized by others for not going far enough.
