Expect a degree of volatility on my ballot for the season's initial weeks, as the formidable teams are sorted from the fly-by-night ones. While I hate dropping teams that win (unless it's a last-second victory against a I-AA foe), it's sort of inevitable at the season's outset.
At any rate, Oklahoma moves up eight spots after its overtime victory at Tennessee (wonder if Butch Jones will tell me to get some class), and Oregon drops only two following its three-point defeat in a hostile Big Ten environment.
Meantime, I bid adieu to Arkansas, Tennessee and Boise State; and welcome in BYU, Northwestern and Utah.
