An armed robbery of a Boca Raton bridge tender led to a high-speed chase up Interstate 95, police said.
The robbery happened about 6 a.m. Tuesday at the Spanish River Bridge. The bridge tender, Edward Colina, 80, had just arrived at work when a car pulled up to him, according to Boca Raton Police.
Inside the car were three 15-year-olds, one of them armed with a .22-caliber rifle, demanding the bridge tender's wallet, said Boca Raton Police spokesman Mark Economou.
"One guy had a rifle, pointing it right at me and he said give me your wallet, give me your wallet.
