— A man wounded by gunfire in a Fort Lauderdale beach parking lot was identified by police Friday, but the agency did not release any information about how he became injured.
Romaine Wilson, 21, of Fort Lauderdale, was in critical condition at Broward Health Medical Center after being found shot at 400 Seabreeze Blvd. around 11 p.m. Wednesday, said Det. Tracy Figone.
That parking lot is just south of East Las Olas Boulevard, along A1A.
"It doesn't surprise me that something would happen in that parking lot," said John Weaver, president of the Central Beach Alliance, because he said the beachfront between Holiday Drive and East Sunrise Boulevard needs better lighting.
