Former Pasco High TE Bowman Archibald, a four-star prospect as a Pirate, has been granted a release from Wake Forest and will transfer to USF.
Archibald, who enrolled early at Wake Forest eight months ago, likely will redshirt this season as he recovers from a broken ankle sustained before spring practice began.
Rated the No. 8 tight end in the nation by ESPN last year, Archibald (6-foot-6, 245 pounds) was a two-way star for Pasco, splitting time at linebacker and defensive end in addition to his role on offense.
As a senior, he caught 14 passes for 173 yards and had six total touchdowns.
