On a surprisingly mild night devoid of humidity, the Bulls flirted with a clutch kick and calamity on their final two-minute drill Thursday at the Morsani Complex.
Starting at its own 35 and needing a field goal to win, the offense -- a mixture of first- and second-teamers -- got off to a promising start with QB Steven Bench finding WR Stanley Clerveaux for a first down on a short pass on fourth-and-3. Clerveaux, however, remained on the ground favoring his left leg and had to be assisted off the field.
Several plays later, the drive stalled, ending with projected starting PK Emilio Nadelman getting enough leg on a 58-yard field-goal try that sailed wide left.
