Although Willie Taggart said he saw flashes of brilliance in QB Quinton Flowers during Saturday's loss at Florida State, the USF coach graded his sophomore's overall performance as "average."
In his third collegiate start, Flowers went 12-for-24 for 125 yards, two touchdowns and one interception in the 34-14 loss. He also rushed for 49 yards on 14 carries.
But Taggart said Tuesday he would've liked to have seen more from Flowers in the passing game. He cited several missed throws, including the second-quarter interception on an under-thrown ball to 6-foot-6 TE Kano Dillon in the end zone that wiped away a potential score.
