Flowers Named CFPA National Performer Of The Year

Bulls quarterback joins previous winners such a Derrick Henry, Marcus Mariota and Jameis Winston

TAMPA, JAN. 12, 2017 – After a record-breaking season leading USF to an 11-2 record, No. 19 national ranking and Birmingham Bowl victory, junior quarterback Quinton Flowers (Miami) has been named the 2017 College Football Performance Awards National Performer of the Year.

The award, presented since 2009, was announced Thursday by CFPA Executive Director Bradley C. Smith. The CFPA recognizes weekly, annual, and multi-season (career) award recipients and in their announcement said winners are “selected based upon objective scientific rankings of the extent to which individual players increase the overall effectiveness of their teams.
