A Florida Highway Patrol trooper and a suspect were taken to a hospital Tuesday evening after an altercation along Interstate 75 near Weston.
The trooper stopped a car for speeding about 7:15 p.m. in the northbound lanes of I-75 just north of Royal Palm Boulevard, agency spokesman Sgt. Mark Wysocky said. When the trooper approached the passenger-side window to speak with the driver, the car's passenger began to argue with the trooper.
The passenger got out of the car and there was an altercation between the passenger and the trooper, Wysocky said. The trooper deployed a Taser, striking the passenger.
