TAMPA (July 11, 2017)— Former USF women's soccer defender Cristina Ferral was picked up by the Mexican National Team earlier this week as it prepares to face Sweden in a friendly match on Saturday.
Ferral graduated from USF and went on to pursue her master's degree at Tec De Monterrey in Mexico before being called up to play for Mexico. Ferral and the rest of the team arrived in Sweden after more than 24 hours of travel and began to prepare.
The defender played in 44 games at USF over two years, and recorded three goals, seven assists, and 74 shots.
