TAMPA, NOV. 11, 2016 – Friday night’s American Athletic Conference semifinal match mirrored the University of South Florida’s season: down early, but an exciting comeback. The Bulls defeated I-4 rival UCF, 2-1, in double-overtime at Corbett Stadium for a spot in The American final Sunday.
Senior Marcus Epps (Jackson, Miss.) scored the golden goal in the 101st minute on a bending shot to the far post. The midfielder's shot sent USF to The American finals for the third time in four seasons.
The first 45 minutes were a defensive battle, but the Knights were able to capitalize on a USF miscue in the 60th minute.
