HOLLYWOOD — It was red barrels not red lights that brought motorists to a standstill Tuesday afternoon.
A wreck involving a tractor trailer carrying chemical drums halted traffic in the southbound lanes of Interstate 95 for hours.
The driver of a Mitsubishi SUV swerved to avoid debris in the road and hit a tractor trailer just north of the Hollywood Boulevard exit, said Sgt. Mark Wysocky, Florida Highway Patrol spokesman.
The driver of the truck lost control, causing the trailer to overturn across the southbound lanes and the cab of the truck to strike the barrier wall.
