NEW HAVEN, CONN., MAY 15, 2015 - The hottest battle for an NCAA Regional Championship will likely come somewhere outside of Connecticut Saturday.
The 16th-ranked and third-seeded USF men's golf team expanded its lead over the New Haven field to nine after two rounds Friday, cruising through the 6,803-yard, par-70 Course at Yale with a 276 (-4), the lowest of the tournament by any team, building a stronghold around the top spot with just 18 holes to go. The nine-stroke gap is the largest between first and second place in any of the six regionals around the nation.
