TAMPA, FLA., DEC. 29, 2019 – Ezacuras Dawson III scored a career-high 18 points and USF overcame a seven-point deficit with four minutes remaining to defeat Florida Atlantic 60-58 Sunday afternoon at the Yuengling Center in the final game of non-conference play.
Michael Forrest put Florida Atlantic ahead 56-49 to cap a 15-4 run and give the Owls their largest lead of the game. That's when Dawson erupted for 10 straight points in a span of 2:24 to put USF ahead 59-56 with just over a minute remaining.
Everett Winchester scored on the ensuing possession for Florida Atlantic to trim the lead to one, but Cornelius Taylor missed a potential game-tying shot at the buzzer after Laquincy Rideau (West Palm Beach, Fla.
