A Weston woman whose car crashed near Interstate 75 Thursday was injured when a tree penetrated windows on the driver's side of her Honda Civic.
The crash happened about 9:21 a.m. to Francis Clemenza, 29. She was traveling south when her car left the interstate on the west shoulder, the Florida Highway Patrol said.
The Honda struck some wood debris, spun around and slid backward into a tree. A tree limb went through the left rear window alongside the driver's headrest and traveled through the front windshield, the patrol said.
"She was literally about two inches away from having that tree go through the back of her head," said Davie Fire Rescue Battalion Chief Robert DiFerdinando.
