Not only is a potent new designer drug called flakka inciting streakers and unleashing other erratic escapades, but it's also killing people: 16 in Broward County since September.
"It's killed three this month already, and we expect to see the numbers going up," Broward's Chief Medical Examiner Craig Mallak said Wednesday at an educational event about the dangers of flakka. "This is by far the most dangerous and deadly drug we have had so far…in this bath salts category."
A derivative of bath salts, which rocked South Florida before it, flakka comes in a crystalline rock form and can be smoked, snorted, swallowed in capsules or injected.
