Football met futbol on the USF soccer pitch on Friday morning. It was a challenge match, a penalty-kick shootout between Coach Denise Schilte-Brown's women's soccer team, coming off Thursday night's season-opening victory against the Florida Gators, and Coach Jeff Scott's football team.
Amid the backdrop of Scott making a $10,000 donation in the name of the football program to the Bulls Club "Stampede for Women,'' an initiative designed to raise scholarship money and build facilities for USF's women's sports, it was pure competition.
After five rounds of PKs, it was tied 4-4.
